Onsite practicalities

 

Certificate of Attendance

A certificate of attendance may be printed online via the congress website at www.ecco-org.eu, after the congress using your badge code number. Please keep your badge to print your certificate. Certificates of attendance may also be printed from the computers located in the internet zones throughout the venue from 12:00 onwards on Sunday 27 September.

The certificate of attendance can be downloaded until December 2015 using the badge code number found on your badge. Please note that the congress secretariat will not mail certificates of attendance to participants after the congress.

 

Congress Newspaper

The OncoPost is the official newspaper of the European Cancer Congress 2015 – an enjoyable mustread for all participants with up-to-the minute news, features, reports and next day highlights. You can pick up your copy of the first issue of OncoPost on Saturday 26 September. Issues 2, 3 and 4 will be made readily available throughout the Congress centre on September 27, 28 and 29 respectively.

 

Currency Exchange

ECC 2015 Congress delegates may benefit from a special offer at Interchange Exchange offices. No commission will be charged for money exchange of amounts equivalent to or larger than €300 if proof of registration to the congress is shown. Interchange has 6 locations at Vienna Airport, including at the baggage claim area, open 7 days a week 05:00 – 23:00, and an office in Vienna city centre (Stephansplatz 9) open 08:00 – 21:00.

 

ECCO Founding Member Societies Lounges

Members of ESMO, ESTRO, ESSO, EACR, EONS and SIOPE are invited to the ECCO Founding Member Societies’ Lounges in Hall C with free internet access and complimentary coffee service to meet fellow society members.

Access to the ECCO Member Societies’ Lounges is restricted to members of ESMO, ESTRO, ESSO, EACR, EONS and SIOPE on display of their ribbon, which can be collected at the societies’ stands in the exhibition area.

Insurance

The organisers of the European Cancer Congress 2015 do not accept liability for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are strongly recommended to obtain their own personal insurance policies. The organisers of the European Cancer Congress accept no responsibility for loss due to theft or negligence.

 

Internet WIFI Access

General WIFI access is available throughout the congress centre including the exhibition hall. To access WIFI, activate the WIFI network on your wireless device and select the network listed as ECC2015.

We gratefully acknowledge Roche as sponsor of the internet WIFI access in the venue and Lilly Oncology for the access in the WIFI lounges located in the Exhibition Hall.

 

Language and Translation

The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translations are being provided.

 

Overflow Area

State-of-the-art overflow areas are available in the congress centre. If a session is full and you are unable to enter the session room, you will be guided to an overflow area where you may follow the session remotely using the screens and headsets provided.

 

Patient Advocacy Square

The Patient Advocacy Square is a dedicated exhibition area for cancer patient advocacy organisations, including booths and a lounge area. It can be found in hall B and is adjacent to the members lounges and the poster sessions. The Patient Advocacy Square provides patient advocacy organisations an opportunity to promote their resources and services to the professional oncology community. It also provides an ideal location for patient advocacy organisations to display materials and where healthcare professionals and patient advocates can meet, interact, and exchange information.

 

Posters

The poster area is located in Hall C. All posters are available on webkey.

To obtain a free copy, please go to the Celgene International booth 500 or to the Astellas Oncology booth nr. 904 in Hall B. An online poster search and viewing facility is available from the poster viewing station located near the poster area in hall C and via the ECC website at www.europeancancercongress.com

Prayer Room

A prayer room is available for our delegates in the back of Hall A.

 

Programme

No printed programme will be available onsite. For #ECC2015, we have replaced the printed programme with three new updated platforms designed to serve all your needs: Mobile APP, Searchable Programme and Find your track. Please find out more here.

 

Public Transport

All fully registered participants (excluding day registrations) will receive a public transport pass on their badge. The badge gives delegates free access to the public transportation system in Vienna from 25 to 29 September (not valid on trains or  the CAT airport train). We gratefully acknowledge the support of Roche as sponsor of the public transport passes.

 

 

Registration

The European Cancer Congress is open to all registered delegates. Your official delegate name badge is required for admission to the congress centre and to all congress events. For security reasons, participants are requested to wear their badge at all times in the congress centre.

Social Events

Opening Ceremony – Friday 25 September 2022 as of 19:15

The Opening Ceremony for the European Cancer Congress will take place on Friday 25 September. The keynote speech will be given by Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (hc), Chief Executive Officer of AACR, and she will focuse on “New Funding Models for Accelerating Progress Against Cancer”.

The Opening Ceremony will also feature an inspiring talk on science and music. As is customary, the National Organising Committee will introduce Vienna and Austria to the Congress participants. Prof. Dr. Klaus Laczika will present a “History of the Viennese Waltz – the Complexity of Ease – How did it all start, how did it evolve and where has it lead us?»

Following the ceremony, there will be a Networking Reception – an opportunity for Society Members and all experts participating in the Congress to meet and begin their exchange of ideas and thoughts on the latest achievements in research laboratories and clinical environments.

Multidisciplinary Oncologists’ Reception – Monday 28 September as of 21:00

Meet colleagues from all over the world in a casual, friendly environment: Set in the heart of an impressive garden, the Volksgarten offers a relaxing atmosphere in the centre of Vienna. The club’s history goes back over 180 years. It is an extensive establishment around an architecturally distinctive glass pavilion offering both open-air and indoor nights. Webcasts

All scientific sessions will be captured and made available for viewing online. The user-friendly interface gives viewers the impression of a front-row seat at all congress presentations. Web-captured presentations offer participants the opportunity to enjoy sessions which they may have missed, wish to hear again or want to share with others. Webcasts will be available on this (ECC2015) website.
